Ricardo Lugo, DDS, MD

Dr. Lugo is a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor within the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He maintains an active practice in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction. His clinical and research focuses are in the areas of head and neck malignant pathology, maxillofacial reconstruction, free tissue transfer, benign pathology, maxillofacial trauma, nerve repair, and dentoalveolar surgery. His clinical practice is located at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.

Tara Brantley

Tara Mathia, DMD, MD

Assistant Clinical Professor

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Mathia is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. She received her DMD degree and certificate in public health from A.T. Still University in Phoenix, Arizona. She then completed her six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. While at UCSF she received her medical degree from the School of Medicine and completed a one-year General Surgery internship.

CLINICAL ACTIVITIES:
I have an active oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in our AAHC-accredited Oral and Facial Surgery Center. My clinical practice focuses primarily on dentoalveolar surgery, including third molar extractions, dental implant surgery, and bone grafting.
